Michele K. Hundt studied fine art and commercial art at the Cooper School of Art in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating she worked as a successful designer and an artistic director at companies in the Cleveland area and studied drawing at the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Cleveland Institute of Art to begin her fine arts, design, fashion, and entrepreneurial careers. Her art education, skills, experience, accomplishments, and gifts enabled her to transition from her design work to her abstract paintings and equine artwork and to express inspirational memories in her figure paintings.
Her original designs and mix of styles and her unique choices of hues and tones are combined in a bold way to create the intense contours, shapes, and colors of her large-scale paintings. Her paintings have appeared in Florida group shows at the Mulry Fine Art Gallery in Palm Beach, The Artists Haven Gallery in Ft. Lauderdale, The Wanderers Club in Wellington, The Paint Store in West Palm Beach, Stephen Johnson Framing in West Palm Beach, and Gisela Pferdkamper Studio. They also were presented in a Wellington solo show at the U. S. Dressage Short List Observation Event at the World Equestrian Festival show grounds.
Michele and her husband, Douglas K. Hundt, own and manage Show Chic Dressage, LLC, one of Wellington’s premier boutiques. Their business specializes in high fashion dressage apparel. They also own a mobile boutique, which offers dressage apparel each equestrian season at the Adequan Global Dressage Festival (Wellington) and other locations.
